There have already been 17 bracelets awarded during the 2023 World Series of Poker, with more than 36,000 entries in the 13 live and four online events that have come to a conclusion. More than $35.5 million in prize money has already been awarded in those tournaments, with hundreds of millions more set to be paid out in the weeks ahead. Below is a look at the latest winners decided at the 2023 WSOP.

2023 WSOP $600 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack

Kenneth O'Donnell with his first gold braceletThe winner of the 2023 WSOP $600 no-limit hold’em deepstack event was Kenneth O’Donnell on June 5, and he took home the top prize worth $351,098. The heads-up final against Jefferson Guerrero Montejo lasted just three hands to bring the long final day of the tournament to a close.

It was the biggest win of his career, and his second career tournament victory claimed him his first gold bracelet. “I’m very, very happy to have been the ‘Chosen One’ for the poker gods today. This feels really special. I just feel really blessed,” said O’Donnell after the win to the PokerNews reporters.

The tournament attracted a large field of 6,085 entries to create a prize pool of just over $3.1 million, with the top 912 players all taking home at least $960 in the event. There were 318 players that returned for Day 2, and Phil Hellmuth made the biggest waves on the way to the final table when his quest for a 17th gold bracelet fell short in 47th place.

2023 WSOP $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack

Joseph Altomonte poses with the gold bracelet in Las VegasJoseph Altomonte topped the field to win the 2023 WSOP $600 pot-limit Omaha deepstack event on June 6. Altomonte scored the largest cash of his career, and his first gold bracelet came in the fifth tournament win of his career.

“My ex said being a poker player wasn’t an acceptable occupation, so I quit for a very long time,” said Altomonte when he was explaining why he had taken a break from playing poker professionally back in 2010. He continued, “It’s a dream come true, you don’t even understand.”

The two-day event saw a record field of 3,200 entries to make for the largest live PLO field ever and a prize pool over $1.6 million. The top 479 players all cashed for at least $962 in prize money, and the second day of play saw 117 players return for a chance at the title. Some top names that made a deep run included Jonathan Dimming (10th), Shaun Deeb (17th), Greg Raymer (88th), and Brandon Shack-Harris (95th).

2023 WSOP Online $500 No-Limit Hold’em Bankroll Builder

Final winning hand for Ian "IanMa" MatakisThe second online event for the summer was held on WSOP.com for players in Nevada and New Jersey to participate in on June 5, and the tournament attracted a field of 1,253 entries to create a prize pool worth $873,900. The top 240 players all cashed for at least $1,311, but in the end it was Ian “IanMa” Matakis who took home the top share worth $120,686. The final match lasted just 20 minutes between Matakis and Baruch “QQlove” Forst. Matakis won his first gold bracelet and took his career earnings well over $1 million with the victory (he scored a sixth-place finish in the $600 ultra deepstack event two days later – see below).

“I’ve always wanted to win a bracelet. I basically played this tournament on my phone the whole day until the end of the 5k (no-limit hold’em freezout). I bagged about 50 bigs for the start of Day 2 on that one. When play ended, my buddy drove me home, and I was able to play the final table on my laptop,” said Matakis to the PokerNews reporters after the win.

Matakis faced one of the biggest names in the field at the final table in Joey Weissman, but he quickly fell in eighth place. Other top players that made a deep run in the large tournament included John Racener (20th), Davide Suriano (27th), and Phil Galfond (34th).

2023 WSOP Online $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack

Ryan Hughes winning one of his previous gold bracelets at the WSOPThere were a total 688 entries that joined the tournament to make for a prize pool worth $888,300 on June 6. The top 120 players all cashed for at least $2,664 in the tournament, and this was the third online event for the summer that was held on WSOP.com for players in Nevada and New Jersey.

This event came down to a thrilling conclusion with Ryan “dna2rna” Hughes looking for his third gold bracelet, and Shaun “fortnite” Deeb trying to win his sixth in the final match. Hughes took out seven of his final dozen opponents to build up a 10:1 chip advantage for the heads-up final, and it proved too much for even Deeb to overcome.

In the end it was Hughes who came away with that third gold bracelet (and first in 14 years) along with the top prize worth $145,059. Hughes also increased his career earnings above $3.1 million. Deeb grabbed $105,707 as the runner-up to take his total winnings just over $13 million.

2023 WSOP Online $600 No-Limit Hold’em Ultra Deepstack

(Danny Wong in 2021)Danny Wong has many accomplishments in his poker career along the road to earning more than $5 million in career earnings, and now he can add a gold bracelet to that list. The fourth online event for the summer was held on June 7 on WSOP.com for players in Nevada and New Jersey, and that is when Wong beat the field to win that bracelet along with $130,648.

Wong came into the final table in the bottom half of the chip counts, and he steered clear of the chaos of eliminations. He was able to overcome a 3:1 chip disadvantage in the final match to pull off the comeback win and eliminate his first opponent at the final table after close to 13 hours of play. This was the fifth tournament win for the professional who has been grinding successfully on the tournament circuit for many years.

A total of 1,031 entries in the tournament set the prize pool at $894,240, and the top 180 players all cashed for at least $1,788. Some notables that made a deep run in the tournament included Jeremiah “freestylerr” Williams (56th), Corey “Corgasm” Paggeot (57th), Michael “BrockLesnar” Holtz (96th), Matt “RubberFist” Stout, and Ryan “BitC0in” Riess (156th).
