David Guay and Tom Hall Capture Bracelets At 2023 World Series of Poker

A total of 71 live events and 12 online events have wrapped up so far at the 2023 World Series of Poker. Nearly $249 million in total prize money has already been awarded across those 83 events, along with the coveted WSOP bracelets for each champion. Below is a look at two of the latest events to wrap up at the series.

2023 WSOP $600 Deepstack Championship No-Limit Hold’em

On the final day of the 2023 WSOP $600 no-limit hold’em ’Deestack Championship event, Canada’s David Guay wore a shirt with the words ‘determination & grit’ emblazoned across the top. Guay displayed just those qualities when he emerged victorious from the field of 4,303 entries to earn his first gold bracelet and the title of $271,032.

Guay had come painstakingly close to winning a WSOP title twice before, finishing as the runner-up in both the 2017 $1,000 tag team event and the 2021 $1,000 double stack event. This time around, he was finally able to come out on top of the heads-up match while a bracelet hung in the balance.

With this win factored in, Guay now has nearly $1.5 million in recorded tournament earnings.

Plenty of tough competition joined Guay at the business end of this event, including 2020 WSOP main event domestic tournament winner Joseph Hebert (33rd), bracelet winner Erik Cajelais (19th), and bracelet winner Joe Ebanks (16th).

2023 WSOP Online $500 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack

The UK’s Thomas ‘lultaxpayers’ Hall came out on top in the 2023 WSOP Online $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em deepstack event. The tournament attracted 1,754 players and another 937 re-entries to create a $1,210,950 prize pool. As a result of the strong turnout, Hall was awarded $176,920 along with his first bracelet after coming out on top.

This was the fourth-largest recorded score of Hall’s career, with his biggest being the $390,000 he earned as the fourth-place finisher in the 2018 partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Nottingham main event. He now has nearly $3.2 million in lifetime earnings to his name.

Full real-name results for this tournament are not yet available, but there were plenty of notables with publicly known screen names who cashed in this event, including bracelet winner and PokerGO broadcaster Brent Hanks (18th), Aditya Agarwal (16th), and Brock Wilson (6th).
