Christina Read has topped the field of 326 entries in the $50,000 guaranteed overlay ladies tournament at The Lodge Poker Club & Card House in Round Rock, Texas to claim the top prize worth $28,466. It was the sixth tournament victory of her career, and it takes her overall earnings up to $232,290.
“Thank you to everyone who helped put this together and gave support to all of the ladies,” said Read in a post on social media.
Read’s other tournament wins over the years include ladies event victories at the Aria Poker Classic ($135 buy-in event 2015), Malta Poker Festival (€100 buy-in event), and the Ladies International Poker Series National Championship ($450 buy-in event in 2022). And in addition to those events she has also booked victories in a $200 buy-in all-in or fold bounty event at a World Poker Tour DeepStacks stop in 2019, and a $375 buy-in event at the 2021 Freedom Bash in Georgia.
The strong turnout for this event created a prize pool of $146,702 (including the $50,000 in added money). The top 45 players all cashed for at least $1,082. It was part of the Lodge Poker Championship tournament series that ran from April 26 to May 16.
