A man from Sioux Falls, S.D. who came to Las Vegas to pick up a Rolls Royce this weekend decided to spend some time at his favorite table at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. It was a worthwhile decision.
While playing Mississippi Stud Poker on Friday, Ashwin Patel won a $203,609 jackpot, according to Las Vegas TV station KTNV. It was through a mega progressive jackpot. He was playing for about two hours when he hit a royal flush in hearts.
The win was on a poker table the Caesars Rewards member has been playing on for 15 years.
Patel apparently has faith that he will continue to be lucky at Caesars Palace. He is going to use this weekend’s win at future gambling sessions at the casino.
Patel revealed he traveled from South Dakota to Las Vegas with his wife to buy a 2018 Rolls Royce Ghost.
$200K Win
Caesars Palace saw another player win $200K at 11 p.m. on Friday. That was only an hour after Patel’s payout.
The second player, who was not identified, was playing video poker. That person is also a Caesars Rewards member.
Great Grandpa Wins Close to $138K
A Ventura County man visiting California’s Chumash Casino Resort won more than $137K while playing poker last Wednesday with his wife at his side.
The player, identified as “Don W.,” got dealt a royal flush in four-card poker. He also bet in a $1 side wager.
I opened the hand and did a double-take, and then turned to my wife and said, ‘Look what I’ve got!’” the lucky player said, according to a casino statement quoted by California TV station KSBY.
“She asked me, ‘What does it pay, $2,000?’ I said, ‘No, look up there — $137,000.’ She about fell over.”
The exact amount was $137,921.
It was a multi-progressive table game jackpot. The multi-progressive jackpot is a promotion on table games where a winner gets the money that has been building up from previous players betting $1 side wagers, and not winning.
Don says he will share the payout with their seven grandkids and eight great-grandkids.
Don’s wife also hit a $1K “envy bonus” from a side wager.
Some 10 years ago, Don and his wife also hit a jackpot at the Chumash Casino Resort, located in Santa Ynez, Calif.
“When my wife won a $35,000 jackpot 10 years ago, it was a total shock,” Don recalled in the casino statement. “We left right away and installed new windows on our house. And now this. Great entertainment for us.”
Recent Record Win
In June, a different man from Ventura County won a record $1.36M payout at the Chumash Casino.
That same winner hit for $556K while playing at the same casino in May.
